The environmental credit line has been designed to encourage economically and financially sustainable industrial units in selected industrial sectors. Aim of the project is to support SMEs in implementing cleaner production and building Common Effluent Treatment Plants (CETPs) to reduce the severe pollution loads and the resultant human risks. The project aimed also to improve the profitability of the beneficiary units in the long run. The credits are provided by the Bank SIDBI and sectors eligible are textile, foundries, tanneries, and some other selected companies.
A scheme to evaluate the companies by auditing has been developed and monitoring tools implemented for SIDBI.
